Saxony: After a forest fire in the Czech Republic, smoke moves through the Elbe valley

Dresden (dpa/sn) – After a forest fire in Bohemian Switzerland in the Czech Republic, clouds of smoke also moved to Saxony. After the wind had turned, the plumes of smoke moved through the Elbe valley and were clearly noticeable in Dresden, for example, the fire brigade announced on Monday. However, there is no danger to the population. The police meanwhile reported numerous calls from concerned citizens.

The forest fire broke out near the border with Saxony on Sunday morning. The Bohemian Switzerland National Park borders directly on the Saxon Switzerland on the German side.
