Saxony-Anhalt: Financial boost for digital further education

Magdeburg/Berlin (dpa/sa) – The federal government and the European Union are funding digital training in small and medium-sized companies in Saxony-Anhalt with almost eight million euros until the end of 2026. This was announced by the spokesman for the SPD state group in the Bundestag, Martin Kröber. The Federal Ministry of Labor will make 2.6 million euros available to the future center for digital work in Saxony-Anhalt, and 5.2 million euros will come from the European Social Fund. According to Kröber, other project partners are “Work and Life” in Saxony-Anhalt, the Halle (Saale) Chamber of Crafts, the Merseburg University of Applied Sciences and the Business Training Academy (FAW).

“Employees and also small and medium-sized companies in Saxony-Anhalt need good training and further education opportunities. The pandemic in particular has shown that we need digital formats,” says Kröber. The shortage of skilled workers requires that this area be advanced.
