Saxony-Anhalt: Haseloff honors the work of the outgoing Lutherstätten boss

Lutherstadt Wittenberg (dpa/sa) – Prime Minister Reiner Haseloff (CDU) thanked the long-standing director and board member of the Luther Memorials Foundation in Saxony-Anhalt, Stefan Rhein, for his work. “You have succeeded in presenting the largest and most famous Reformation history museums and authentic Luther locations as a unit in diversity and fulfilling their mission,” explained Haseloff on Monday, according to the State Chancellery, when the Rhine was bid farewell in Wittenberg. Rhein has headed the foundation since 1998. He will retire at the end of this month.

“You have rendered outstanding services to the Luther Museums, the cultural landscape of the state of Saxony-Anhalt and Luther and Melanchthon research, and you have also helped Wittenberg, Eisleben and Mansfeld to rediscover their historical face,” stressed Haseloff.

Rhein’s successor will be Thomas T. Müller from February 1st. He previously headed the Mühlhausen museums and was President of the Thuringian Museum Association.
