Saxony-Anhalt: More traffic fatalities in Saxony-Anhalt

Halle (dpa/sa) – Between January and September 2022, more people died on the roads in Saxony-Anhalt than in the same period of the previous year. A total of 118 road deaths were counted, said the State Statistical Office in Halle on Friday. That was 29 fatalities more than in the same period last year. The number of people seriously injured in road traffic fell slightly to around 1380. The number of those slightly injured rose significantly by more than 500 to almost 5500 people.

According to traffic accident statistics, a total of around 48,000 traffic accidents were counted in the country in the first nine months of the year. Here the number fell slightly by almost two percent.
