Dresden (dpa/sn) – The Free State of Saxony has extended its participation in two corona default funds for regional film producers. The aid is intended to protect local companies against damage caused by the pandemic because there has not yet been any insurance for this, the State Chancellery announced on Monday. Saxony is now participating in both funds with around 1.5 million euros. The extension is planned to be retroactive to July 1st and until the end of December. The default funds were launched in 2020. They would have made a significant contribution to the fact that films and series could be produced in Germany even in times of a pandemic.
