Saxony: State government supports people in Ukraine

Dresden (dpa / sn) – The Saxon state government supports the people in the Ukrainian Butscha with a delivery of relief supplies. A total of ten pallets with medicines, pharmacy goods, protective masks and non-perishable food with a total value of around 20,000 euros will be sent to the region, as the State Chancellery announced on Saturday. The cargo was brought to the Czech partner region of Liberec on Friday. From there, the pallets are to be brought to Butscha with other Czech relief supplies in the coming days.

Bucha is symbolic of the terrible devastation caused by the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine. “With our delivery of aid, we want to make a small contribution to enabling the people in Butscha to return to normal life,” stressed Head of State Oliver Schenk.

Atrocities had come to light after Russian troops withdrew from some Ukrainian cities, such as Bucha and Irpin. The worldwide reaction to the pictures of murdered citizens and reports of rapes was appalled.
