Television Who is Canco Rodríguez, the new guest of Pasapalabra

The Pasapalabra jackpot continues to grow and now reaches 1.1 million euros. Óscar and Moisés are the current contestants fighting for the loot, which is put at stake every afternoon in the final test of El Rosco.

The Antena 3 program continues its course and that means that new guests are parading around the set willing to waste knowledge, reflexes and good humor to help the contestants. On this occasion, Roberto Leal has welcomed the famous Víctor Elías, Ana Guerra, Aida Folch and Canco Rodríguez. Let’s get to know the latter a little better.

Juan José Rodríguez is better known as Canco Rodríguez (Málaga, 1977), but above all he is more known for the character he played in the series Aída: the former drug addict Barajas and best friend of Luisma (Paco León). The actor defended this role during the 10 seasons that the project lasted, making it one of the most loved by the audience.

This year, several actors from Aída wanted to celebrate the anniversary of the series on social media, a spin-off of Seven Lives that started in 2005 and continued until 2014. “18 years ago today, the series that changed my life premiered. “What I learned and lived through those years was incredible, but the greatest gift was finding a second family. Always grateful to the entire team that made this dream possible. And thanks to all the followers of the series who carried it along,” Canco wrote in Instagram along with some photos.

Beyond television success, in those years Rodríguez met the dancer Marta Nogal, whom he married in 2017 and with whom he now has a son.

Before rising to fame, Canco Rodríguez did not have a long professional career. In Malaga, he combined his career in Journalism with Dramatic Art, until he decided to pack his bags to go to Madrid in search of training and opportunities in the world of acting.

Before being Barajas, the actor had found small and sporadic roles in series such as Ala… Dina! o Tell me how it happened and in films like The Party (2003) or Isi/Disi: Amor a lo bestia (2004).

Once the Aída era closed, Canco Rodríguez landed a leading role in the renowned series Elite Corps and in the two film installments of Brain Drain and Operación Camarón. In cinema, he has already accumulated more than a dozen appearances in feature films.

Nothing resists him, not even theater and musicals: Today I can’t get up, The Hole or The Jury are some of his main works on stage. In fact, his current stint on Pasapalabra coincides with the show El Rock

On television, Canco Rodríguez has appeared in programs such as One to Win or The Contest of the Year, although his time as a contestant on Your Face Me Sounds 5 (2016/2017) especially stood out, where he was classified as a finalist and finished in fifth position. . In addition, it is worth remembering that he was also one of the presenters of Telecinco’s 2015 Campanadas, yes, playing the role of Barajas and alongside Miren Ibarguren (Soraya), Paco León (Luisma) and Pepe Viyuela (Chema)
