The price of light rises by 16% up to 215.63 euros / mwh

The price of electricity in the wholesale market (POOL) has been located on Thursday at 215.63 euros the megawatt hour (MWh), which means by increasing the price set by yesterday and surrounding the barrier of the
200 euros / mwh.

With this rise, the price of light for today exceeds the seventh time in history, all of them during this October, 200 euros / MWh, and is situated as the sixth highest price of electricity since there are records.

During the first fourteen days of October, the average price in the wholesale market has reached 200.7 euros / MWh on average, which would become the most expensive in history.

In addition, the price of this Thursday quintuple the amount recorded by the Pool during the second Thursday of October last year (43.95 euros).

Wholesale market prices are directly affected by regulated or PVPC rate, which almost 11 million consumers are welcomed in Spain, and serves as a reference for the other 17 million that hire their supply in the free market.

By time slots, the maximum price for today will be recorded between 9:00 and 10:00 hours with 260 euros / MWh, while the minimum will be 175.25 euros / MWh between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
