The former president of Murcia leaves all his charges beset by corruption

The popular accusation calls for nine years in prison for the former president of Murcia for the ‘ Punic case ‘ the Written by the prosecutor’s office, he recalls that in May 2014, Sánchez, from his position as education counselor, was applying to replace Alberto Garre as regional president. However, his image in the media was “stigmatized” by the publication of negative news, especially his imputation for crimes of urban corruption in the case of the Puerto Lumbreras Auditorium, the locality of which he was mayor.
Pedro Antonio Sánchez, according to the prosecutor, knew that the companies of De Pedro and José Antonio Alonso Conesa, former mayor of Cartagena, carried out works of cleaning the image on the Internet of the councillor of that locality, Pilar Barreiro. Sanchez asked this to mediate with Conesa to do the same with his online reputation. Sanchez allegedly agreed with Barreiro, who is also accused of similar crimes, in which this plan for the improvement of the personal political image will be paid with funds from the Ministry of Education through “a cover contract with simulated object”.
The contract would also include hiring a journalist to promote positive news about Sánchez in a digital medium managed by Pedro in Murcia. However, the contract and the payment of the public funds were not produced because the outbreak of the Punic operation prevented it.
