United Kingdom Representatives of royal houses from all continents cover the Monarch in a meeting prior to the coronation

The Monarchies have made a display of unity to support Carlos III in his coronation. The British King has opened the doors of Buckingham Palace in two times. Around 12 noon, the royal family has arrived at what was the official residence of Elizabeth II. There, the sovereign and his heir, Prince William, together with Kate Middleton, made a stop to greet the hundreds of people who have camped out on the great avenue in front of the Palace since the beginning of the week with the aim of watching tomorrow the royal procession from the most privileged places possible.

Carlos III and some of his closest relatives -Princess Anne, the Dukes of Edinburgh and the aforementioned Princes of Wales- have shared a lunch with the representatives of the 14 countries in which, not counting the United Kingdom, Carlos III is head of state, including Canada and Australia.

And, later, after that meeting, already in the afternoon, the king has summoned the representatives of dynasties from all over the globe again in Buckingham to share a reception in which the Royal Houses made a display of strength and unity.

The list is very long. The Grand Dukes of Luxembourg, Alois and Sofia of Liechtenstein, Federico and Mary of Denmark, Kiko and Fumihito of Japan, Margarita and Radu of Romania, Felipe of the Belgians with his eldest daughter Elizabeth, have been there. Carlos Gustavo from Sweden also attended, accompanied by his eldest daughter, Victoria. The heiress of the Netherlands, Amalia, also attended, but in her case together with her grandmother, Princess Beatriz, representing Guillermo and Máxima -both have reserved to be present tomorrow at the coronation ceremony in Westminster . The two young crown princesses will not go, however, to the Abbey.

Hakoon and Matte Marit from Norway, Abdalá II and Rania from Jordan, Simeon and Margarita from Bulgaria, the kings of Bhutan, the sultan of Brunei -one of the richest men in the world- or the controversial monarch of Thailand have also not been missing. The pretender to the throne of Greece, Pablo, has come with his wife, Marie Chantal, and his mother, the widowed queen Ana Maria.

The representation of our country has fallen on the Kings Felipe and Letizia, the only guests of the Spanish Royal House. The Monarch and his wife have traveled separately to the British capital, as the King has attended an act of the Talent Tour in Lugo in the morning, while the Queen had no events on the agenda. After eating, both have met at the Spanish Embassy, ??the official residence of the King and Queen in London, and the only diplomatic headquarters with rooms for both.

Around half past four in the afternoon, Don Felipe and Doña Letizia have left the Embassy for Buckingham, where the welcome reception for the members of all the Royal Houses who have traveled to participate in the historic coronation took place. As it was a mid-afternoon appointment, protocol called for a short dress and no tiaras. Doña Letizia has paid homage to British fashion with a pistachio green dress by Victoria Beckham. On the lapel, the Queen has worn Queen Sofía’s bow-shaped diamond brooch for the first time. Perhaps a nod to the mother of Don Felipe, who is undoubtedly one of the great absentees of royalty at the coronation. Although at first in Buckingham they considered repeating the formula of the funeral of Elizabeth II, which was attended by the four Spanish kings, finally only Don Felipe and Doña Letizia have been invited.

At half past six in the evening the processions have left the Palace. Jill Biden, the first lady of the United States to attend on behalf of her husband, has been the first to leave. Among the 200 guests at this banquet, a much more intimate date than today’s ceremony with 2,200 guests, was also the first lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelensky. Carlos III was the penultimate to leave Buckingham at seven o’clock in the evening, local time. The king aroused the applause of the public and waved from the car. After him, the princes of Wales have left, ending the day.

The city is armored and prepared for the coronation, a historic event that kings from other continents can attend for the first time, breaking tradition.
