United States A judge prohibits Trump from attacking prosecutors and witnesses in a trial against him for trying to reverse his electoral defeat

A federal judge this Monday prohibited Donald Trump from attacking prosecutors, judicial personnel and possible witnesses involved in a criminal case that accuses him of trying to reverse his 2020 electoral defeat.

Judge Tanya Chutkan has assured in Washington that she would not allow Trump – who has pleaded not guilty – to “launch a pre-trial smear campaign” against the people involved.

“No other criminal defendant would be allowed to do so,” he explained when issuing the order. This order prohibits Trump and the lawyers in the case from personally attacking special counsel Jack Smith, prosecutors working with him, and court staff. It also prevents Trump from speaking to potential witnesses in connection with his trial testimony.
