A nine-year-old girl and her 10-year-old brother must testify as witnesses in a criminal proceeding against their mother, accused of “discrediting” the Russian army.
Investigators from the northern Arkhangelsk region summoned Lidia Prudovskaya and her children to testify, the Sota news outlet reported.
Prudovskaya had already been denounced for posting anti-war messages on the Russian social network VKontakte in September 2022.
Discrediting the military is a crime under a law that has been in force since Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022. The Kremlin often wields it against its detractors.
In April, authorities asked to limit the parental rights of a single father convicted of discrediting the military after his daughter drew an anti-war drawing at school.
Alexei Moskalyov, 54, was sentenced to two years in prison for criticizing the invasion of Ukraine on social media, and his daughter Maria was sent to an orphan asylum.
The 13-year-old girl was later handed over to her mother.
