War in Ukraine Ukraine claims to have shot down 29 of the 38 kamikaze drones launched by Russia

The Ukrainian Air Force has managed to repel 29 of 38 Russian attacks with kamikaze drones tonight, one of which caused damage to an energy infrastructure in Odessa, as reported this Saturday by the armed forces in different messages.

The attacks occurred from the north and southeast and used Iranian-made Shahed-type drones, which were launched in several waves, the Air Force reported in a Telegram message.

A total of 29 of the suicide drones could have been destroyed before impact, the message added.

In the Odessa region (southern), one of the unmanned vehicles hit an energy infrastructure facility, causing damage to an administrative building, the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine said on its Telegram channel.

“A fire broke out and was quickly contained. A civilian employee who was injured was hospitalized,” the message added.

Another drone caused a fire in an unspecified infrastructure in the Zaporizhzhia region (southern), according to the State Emergency Services of the Zaporizhia Region, which was quickly extinguished.
