The Specialty Soy and Grains Alliance (SSGA) recently organized the US Identity Preserved International Workshop at the Marriott Hotel, Naxal to promote identity preserved agriculture in Nepal. This workshop aimed to educate Nepal’s soy industry about the benefits and value of using US-identified preserved grains and oilseeds.

During the event, Shree Radhe Rani International Trading was honored as the first recipient of the Identity Preservation Certificate in the world. This prestigious certification allows Nepali soy sauce manufacturers who use American soy to display the ‘Identity Preserved United States’ logo on their products. This recognition will not only enhance their credibility but also increase their market value on a global scale.

He emphasized the significance of this certification for the Nepali soy industry.

The workshop also featured a variety of local foods made from US identity-preserved soy, such as nuts, flours, tofu, and desserts. Attendees had the opportunity to sample these products and learn more about the versatility and nutritional benefits of US IP soy.

Key speakers at the event included Tom Frisch, a US-based farmer who shared insights on growing US IP soy and other crops. Nishith Kumar, a soy food technical consultant, conducted a soy food manufacturing demonstration featuring tofu, traditional sweets, toasted soy nuts, and more. With the support of organizations like the SSGA and USSEC, Nepali soy manufacturers are now equipped with the tools and resources to enhance their products and expand their presence in the global market.
