Chevron, a leading integrated energy company, has announced a generous donation of $250,000 to support relief and recovery efforts in Florida after Hurricane Milton caused devastation in the region. Mike Vomund, the vice president of Fuel Sales at Chevron, expressed the company’s solidarity with the residents of Florida as they work towards recovery.

The donation will be allocated to various organizations involved in the relief efforts. The Fuel Relief Fund will receive $100,000 to support relief efforts across the impacted region, while Team Rubicon will receive $100,000 to aid emergency response teams. Volunteer Florida will receive $50,000 to support volunteer mobilization and recovery efforts.

In addition to the financial contribution, Chevron has also donated 8,500 gallons of fuel directly from its Panama City Terminal to be distributed to first responders in the affected areas. This support comes on the heels of a previous $250,000 donation from Chevron to assist with Hurricane Helene recovery efforts in the Southeast.

Chevron is committed to providing aid in times of need and has extended its support by matching qualifying donations made by employees and retirees to hurricane relief efforts. The company will also provide financial contributions to organizations where its employees volunteer, furthering its commitment to helping communities in crisis.

With a significant retail presence in Florida, Chevron supplies over 600 independently owned Chevron and Texaco stations in the state and operates three fuel terminals. The company’s dedication to providing reliable energy during the recovery process underscores its commitment to enabling human progress through affordable, reliable, and cleaner energy solutions.

In addition to its support for hurricane relief efforts, Chevron is focused on growing its lower carbon businesses in renewable fuels, carbon capture and offsets, hydrogen, and other emerging technologies. The company aims to lower the carbon intensity of its operations while continuing to grow its oil and gas business.

The donation to organizations like the Fuel Relief Fund, Team Rubicon, and Volunteer Florida demonstrates Chevron’s ongoing commitment to supporting communities in need and providing assistance during times of crisis. Through collaborative efforts and financial contributions, Chevron is working to help Florida communities recover and rebuild in the aftermath of Hurricane Milton.

Chevron’s donation will play a crucial role in providing essential support to those affected by the hurricane, ensuring that resources are available to assist with the recovery process. The company’s commitment to social responsibility and community engagement underscores its dedication to making a positive impact in the regions where it operates.
