Journalism 'Expansión', EL MUNDO AND 'Telva', recognized for their coverage of the cosmetics industry

Markets, innovation and sustainability have permeated the Madrid headquarters of the National Association of Perfumery and Cosmetics, Stampa, on the occasion of the delivery of its Cosmetics Industry Journalism Awards in which they recognize the journalistic work that allows us to know the reality of the sector, as well as promoting the dissemination of information relevant to society and the business community. In this second edition, three of the awards have gone to journalists from the Unidad Editorial group: Ana Medina from Expansión, Marcos Iriarte from EL MUNDO, as well as Mamen Infante and Paloma Sancho from Telva magazine.

In the case of Medina, she has received recognition for her article The future of beauty: new markets and Generation Z, of which the jury has highlighted its precision and degree of detail when capturing the reality of the industry from different angles. such as economic, sociological and technological. They have also said they valued the depth, data and wide variety of infographic resources.

The editor-in-chief of the Economy section in EL MUNDO, Marcos Iriarte, has been recognized with a special mention for the originality, quality and interest of the approach of his piece dedicated to the pioneer of this industry, Salvador Echeandía Gal.

The jury has also unanimously decided to have a gesture with Mamen Infante and Paloma Sancho from Telva magazine for a ‘report – tribute’ to the sector that stands out for its exhaustiveness, documentation, rigor and great depth, as detailed by the jury.

For their part, María Crespo from New Fragancies and Ana de Santos from El Español have been awarded in the categories of innovation and sustainability, respectively. The first has been recognized for its Innovation work. Ingredients with a future of which the jury has highlighted its variety of sources and examples used. While de Santos has done so with Captan more than 300,000 tons of CO2, on which the jury has highlighted the professional’s sense of smell to reflect the advances of the industry in this matter.

Miguel Ángel Noceda, president of the FAPE (Federation of Associations of Journalists of Spain) and also of the contest jury, has been in charge of delivering the trophies prepared by the A la Par Foundation, which works for the rights of people with disabilities. intellectual and promotes their participation and social inclusion. In addition, the three winners have received an amount of €2,000 as a financial prize for the work carried out.

The Stanpa organization wanted to highlight the gap that these awards are currently making, since in this second edition 72 nominations have been received from more than thirty journalists, which is 24% more than those presented in the first. “For Stanpa, these awards are a strategic project, endorsed by the association’s Board of Directors, with which we want to promote and recognize the work of the media to publicize the industry in an informative and rigorous way,” explained Val Díez, general director of Stanpa.

Clara Pi, Director of Communication at Stanpa and member of the jury, closed the event by highlighting the growth of this call that “demonstrates the palpable interest among journalists who cover current events in our industry and invites us to think about consolidation. We are talking about more than 70 candidates that have presented us with a real challenge when it comes to deciding and that have once again highlighted the excellent journalistic level that surrounds our sector.”
