news-24092024-063124

Komatsu recently unveiled its latest models, the HD465-10 and HD605-10 haul trucks, in the North American market. These trucks are an upgrade from the previous -8 models and are specifically designed to enhance productivity and fuel efficiency in mining, quarry, and aggregate applications.

The HD465-10 is a 60-ton rigid frame haul truck with a strong payload capacity and efficient hauling capabilities. On the other hand, the HD605-10 is a 70-ton rigid frame haul truck that prioritizes reliability and durability. Both models are equipped with features that make them ideal for navigating narrow haul roads, such as a tight turning radius and ergonomically designed cabin features for operator comfort during long shifts.

What sets these new haul trucks apart is their increased horsepower and the use of higher-strength steel, resulting in reduced operating weight and excellent speed on grade. Moreover, the trucks come with additional features like a MacPherson-strut-type independent front suspension for smooth rides on uneven road surfaces, fuel efficiency modes for lighter work, and automatic retard speed control for controlled downhill descent.

Operators will also benefit from new features like hill start assist, throttle lock, a retractable sun visor, and a waiting brake. Maintenance-wise, the trucks are designed with a full LED light package, plastic resin wheel chocks, maintenance-free batteries, brake performance checks, and ground level Komatsu Oil and Wear Analysis (KOWA) sampling ports.

Madeline Pearce, Product Marketing Manager at Komatsu, expressed the company’s dedication to meeting customers’ needs and enhancing their effectiveness on the job site. The fuel efficiency and productivity advantages of these new haul trucks, coupled with operator-friendly features, underscore Komatsu’s commitment to customer satisfaction across North America.

If you’re interested in seeing the new HD605-10 truck up close, it will be on display at MINExpo International from September 24-26 at the Pronto Autonomous Haulage booth. This event will provide a great opportunity for mining professionals to witness firsthand the innovative features and capabilities of Komatsu’s latest haul truck models.
