Transfer of Wallets Montero assumes more power and vindicates the ministers: "The thing about women fighting among themselves is false. It's the men"

The new first vice president of the Government, María Jesús Montero, has forcefully assumed maximum power in the Executive after that of Pedro Sánchez. In the transfer of portfolios in the Ministry of Economic Affairs, she asked the third vice president, Teresa Ribera, to join the platform where the outgoing Nadia Calviño was and has vindicated the ministers.

“The thing about women fighting among themselves is false. It is the men who fight,” said Montero, highlighting the strong connection that has united him these years with Teresa Ribera and with Calviño herself, who has given him the first vice presidency. .

Montero – who has not brought up present ministers such as José Luis Escrivá – has highlighted the complicity of “the women in the economic area of ??the Government.” “I have to say that when someone at some point may have had a downturn, a moment of discouragement, the rest of us have always gone there (…) destroying what is always said that women fight among themselves, that is radically “false. Men fight among themselves. Women normally try to help each other.” De Calviño has said that he has with her “a friendship that is forged in the trenches” and the new president of the European Investment Bank has described her as a “twin” and “sister.”

Montero has asked the new Minister of Economic Affairs, Carlos Body, to develop with her “the same complicity as Nadia Calviño” and has made it clear that she will exercise the first vice presidency in a manner “complementary to being Minister of Finance.”

Body, for its part, has highlighted in his first intervention the importance of fiscal responsibility “and in that the Minister of Finance has a lot to say” emphasizing that it will not depend only on him. She has stated that we must continue on the path of lowering the deficit and the debt and, in an expression that is not usually used in the Government, she has stated that “it must be done in a credible and decisive manner.”

The new minister joked during the transfer of the portfolio, pretending to Calviño that he was dropping it due to its excessive weight, as the image illustrates. For her part, she has described the Ministry of Economic Affairs as “Rolls Royce of the Spanish Administration” and has refused to say goodbye, but rather “see you forever.” She, Body and Montero have received a long applause from the officials who filled the auditorium.

Of all the attendees, Corpus has been the only one who has stressed in the speeches the importance of “having an attitude of dialogue and achieving consensus.” “We cannot allow ourselves to fail,” said the new minister. “This is going to turn out very well,” a grown Montero has bet.
