Union and the SPD is more divided: when can tenants be re-terminated?

In the coalition dispute over an extension of the end of June, expiring moratorium on rental payments, consumer loans, as well as energy, water and telephone bills is not a solution. In the Union there is resistance against a regulation of the Minister of justice, Christine Lambrecht (SPD), which extend in the Corona-crisis-adopted facilities for tenants and consumers until the end of September.

According to a report by the editorial network Germany (RND) made by the Union ministries of objections. SPD parliamentary group Deputy Dirk Wiese said the RND: “the Union has stopped this important extension, is a slap in the face of many Restaurants, pubs and retailers who have used up their reserves is still declining sales and the full rent will have to pay”.

In the Union States, according to the RND, an extension of the special arrangements, it would be a completely failed Signal. “We just put everything to return to normality and the business of life get up and Running,” said the legal policy spokesman of the Union Bundestag group, Jan-Marco Luczak.

The Bundestag had decided to follow in March, to mitigate the pandemic, that tenants from the 1. April up to 30. June of this year, not terminated may be if you can’t pay because of the Corona, with the crisis in the rent. Also in the case of private loans, as well as bills for electricity or Gas, a postponement of payment is for this period.

The owners ‘ Association Haus und Grund and the leading Association of the housing industry GdW reject an extension of the moratorium option, as demanded by the SPD group in the Bundestag. Support for the SPD’s plans, however, comes from trade unions and consumer associations.
