Ajay Devgn and Tigmanshu Dhulia collaborate for a film on India’s first Dalit cricketer

After the success of ‘Maidaan’, Ajay Devgn is all set to team up with director Tigmanshu Dhulia for a biopic on India’s first Dalit cricketer, Palwankar Baloo. The news was confirmed by film producer Priti Sinha in a recent announcement on social media.

The upcoming biopic is said to be based on historian Ramchandra Guha’s book ‘A Corner Of A Foreign Field’, which sheds light on the life and struggles of Baloo, who faced discrimination throughout his cricketing career. Baloo, a Dalit community member, initially worked as a groundsman at a cricket club in Pune before making his mark in the sport.

Production for the film is expected to commence by the end of 2023, with Ajay Devgn and Tigmanshu Dhulia joining forces to bring this inspiring story to the silver screen. This collaboration is highly anticipated by fans and critics alike, following the success of ‘Maidaan’ and Devgn’s impressive filmography.

Stay tuned for more updates on this much-awaited project, as the team prepares to bring the story of Palwankar Baloo to life in a compelling and impactful manner.
