Death Penalty in Texas: Woman Convicted of Murdering Pregnant Woman and Stealing Fetus

In Texas, the trial of a particularly brutal case is coming to an end. A young woman murders a heavily pregnant friend and cuts her unborn child out of her body. She plans to pretend it’s her own child, but the baby doesn’t survive the surgery. The verdict: death penalty.

After the brutal murder of a pregnant friend and the theft of her unborn baby, a court in the US state of Texas sentenced the 29-year-old perpetrator to death. This emerges from the documents of the court in the small town of New Boston, east of Dallas.

In October 2020, the woman killed her heavily pregnant friend in her house with more than a hundred stab wounds, cut open her stomach and removed the unborn child. The victim’s three-year-old daughter left her asleep in another room.

She was picked up in her car a few kilometers from the scene of the crime. She claimed that she gave birth to a child on the side of the road, but that she is no longer breathing. The woman and baby were taken to a hospital, where the fetus was pronounced dead.

For months, the now 29-year-old had told her boyfriend and relatives that she was pregnant. She reported on the online networks about her supposed pregnancy and bought a fake silicone belly. In truth, however, she could no longer have children after a hysterectomy.

According to investigators, she had started searching for pregnant women in stores and maternity wards a few weeks before the murder. Shortly before the act, she watched numerous videos about childbirth and caesarean sections.
