Evancho, Reduced Shakespeare coming to Genesee

Classical-crossover singer Jackie Evancho will play Waukegan’s Genesee Theatre this spring.

The “America’s Got Talent” finalist performs in concert at 8 p.m. Friday, May 19. She is not only known for singing at President Trump’s inauguration, but also being supportive in the press of her transgender older sister, Juliet. Tickets are $35-$85.

The Reduced Shakespeare Company is returning to its roots with a tour of the new comedy “William Shakespeare’s Long Lost First Play (Abridged).” The company rose to fame with the long-running London comedy “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)” before spoofing and reducing other topics. “William Shakespeare’s Long Lost First Play (Abridged)” plays 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 28, and tickets are $19-$32.50.

Both shows go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, March 3. Call (847) 263-6300 or visit geneseetheatre.com.
