Fathers Should Not Be Applauded for Simply Being a Parent, Paloma Faith Asserts

In a recent interview on ITV’s Lorraine, singer Paloma Faith expressed her views on fatherhood, stating that fathers should not be excessively complimented or applauded for simply being a parent. The artist, who co-parents her two daughters with ex-partner Leyman Lahcine, emphasized that she does not use the term “co-parent” as it implies a 50/50 split in parenting responsibilities, which she believes is not always the case.

Faith noted that while she appreciates the involvement of her children’s father and is grateful that they spend time with him, she does not believe in overpraising fathers for fulfilling their parental duties. She highlighted the importance of recognizing and acknowledging the efforts of all parents without placing undue emphasis on one gender.
