Reggae and Dancehall artist Gyptian is thrilled with the positive reception of his latest EP, ‘Guarded’, marking his return to the music scene after more than a decade. The EP, released on July 26 via Silverbirds Records and VPAL Music, has been well-received by fans, with particular praise for the track ‘My Woman’, according to Gyptian in an interview with DancehallMag.

Having worked on the album for two years with producer Junior ‘Chambah’ Stevens, Gyptian expressed the difficulty in selecting tracks for the EP due to the high quality of the songs produced. The EP includes singles like ‘Guarded’, ‘Together We’re Stronger’, and ‘Let Me Down’ featuring Teebone, and was co-produced by Dean Barnett and Junior Stevens of Silverbirds Records.

The overarching theme of the album, as Gyptian describes, is about being guarded in life while still remaining open and authentic. He emphasized the importance of protecting his energy while sharing his soul through music, stating, “My guard is up but my music is real.”

In addition to the EP release, Gyptian also dropped a music video for the song ‘Let Me Down’ featuring Teebone, highlighting the blend of their unique styles and the message of guidance for the new generation. The artist is currently in the United Kingdom for a series of shows in Europe, including performances at the Reggae Land Festival, Reggae Rhythm in Wales, Gyptian Live in Liverpool, and the Rotterdam Carnival in the Netherlands.

Gyptian gained international fame in 2010 with the global success of ‘Hold You’, which propelled him to stardom and solidified his position in the reggae music scene. The song spent weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart, earning 2X Platinum certification in the UK this year.

Known for his smooth vocals and meaningful lyrics, Gyptian has amassed millions of streams on various hit songs like ‘Serious Times’, ‘Wine Slow’, ‘Nah Let Go’, and ‘Beautiful Lady’. Throughout his career, he has released several albums, including ‘My Name Is Gyptian’, ‘I Can Feel Your Pain’, ‘Hold You’, ‘Sex, Love & Reggae’, and ‘Nothing to Lose’.

Despite the delayed release of his fifth album ‘Nothing to Lose’ in 2015, Gyptian continues to captivate audiences with his music, blending traditional reggae sounds with contemporary influences to create a unique and timeless sound that resonates with fans worldwide.
