Shavo Odadjian, the bassist of System of a Down, has excitedly announced his new band, Seven Hours After Violet. The group, known as S.H.A.V., consists of talented musicians from bands like Left to Suffer and Winds of Plague. Their debut single, “Paradise,” accompanied by a trippy music video, has just been released.

According to a press release, Seven Hours After Violet has been working on a full-length album that will be released through Odadjian’s new record label, 1336 Records, a branch of Sumerian Records. The band members include vocalist Taylor Barber from Left to Suffer, guitarists Morgoth from Winds of Plague and Alejandro Aranda from Scarypoolparty and American Idol, as well as drummer Josh Johnson from Winds of Plague.

Odadjian expressed his excitement about the new project, stating that “Paradise” sets the tone for what Seven Hours After Violet is all about. He wanted to create something heavy yet melodic, going back to his musical roots. Unlike his previous side projects, which were outside the realm of heavy music, S.H.A.V. allows him to explore a different side of his creativity.

The band’s first single and music video, “Paradise,” marks a new chapter in Odadjian’s career. He emphasized the importance of staying true to himself and creating music that he loves, regardless of others’ opinions. This newfound freedom and passion have fueled the creation of Seven Hours After Violet, which Odadjian considers his favorite project since System of a Down.

In addition to releasing their debut single, Seven Hours After Violet will be making their live debut at the upcoming Mayhem Festival on October 12th at the Glen Helen Amphitheater in San Bernardino, California. Fans can expect an electrifying performance from this new and exciting band.
