John Mayer adds Honda Center stop to his tour

At the end of January, Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter John Mayer announced the initial dates for his Search for Everything World Tour, which kicks off March 31 in Albany, New York. The jaunt is also scheduled to come to the Forum (3900 W. Manchester Blvd.) in Inglewood on April 21.

Now, Mayer has addded a number of summer dates to the tour, which will feature a full band, a solo acoustic portion of the evening and John Mayer Trio sets of music, and it includes a stop at Honda Center (2695 E. Katella Ave.) in Anaheim on July 25.

The Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter and noted guitarist will embark on his first solo trek since 2012 in support of his EP, “The Search for Everything: Wave One,” which dropped on Jan. 20 and includes the single, “Love on the Weekend.” There will be a full-length album coming at some point this year as well via Columbia Records.

Since he has done some extensive touring with Dead & Company, featuring Bob Weir, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann of the Grateful Dead, he put his solo work on hold for the most part, opting to first issue an EP and touring before once again joining Dead & Company for more dates in 2017. The band plays the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on May 31 and June 1.

Tickets to the Honda Center show are $59-$125 and go on sale at 10 a.m. March 4 at 800-745-3000 or Ticketmaster.com.
