Kanye West’s Neglected $2.2M Ranch in Calabasas Falls Into Ruins

Kanye West’s $2.2 million ranch in Los Angeles has been left abandoned and in disarray for over a year. Aerial photos obtained by Page Six reveal the 320-acre property in Calabasas, Calif., with parts of the main house’s roof and front entrance demolished, allowing trees and leaves to penetrate the structure.

The estate, which once served as West’s headquarters for Sunday Service and Donda Academy, has been vacant for an extended period, showing no signs of improvement in a year. The reason behind West’s neglect of the property and any plans for its restoration remain unclear.

While the rapper and his wife, Bianca Censori, have been frequently traveling the world, they reportedly reside in a $20,000-a-month penthouse in West Hollywood when in the US. This contrasts with the sorry state of West’s ranch, lacking a proper entrance and scattered with debris.

In a pattern of purchasing properties and leaving them unfinished, West listed his Malibu beachfront home for sale in December 2023 after failing to convert it into a bomb shelter. Despite purchasing the property for $57 million two years earlier, West dropped the asking price to $39 million after removing windows and electricity to mimic a bomb shelter from the 1910s.

Additionally, in December 2021, West acquired a $4.5 million house in Hidden Hills, Calif., near his ex-wife Kim Kardashian’s residence, with plans to demolish it. The status of this project following the couple’s divorce settlement remains uncertain.
