NCIS star Michael Weatherly seemingly confirms the start of filming for the Tony & Ziva spinoff. The long-running procedural drama, one of the most popular franchises produced by CBS Studios, is reuniting stars Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo for the first time in over a decade for a Paramount+ Original called NCIS: Tony & Ziva. The duo will executive produce the project, which catches up with popular characters Tony DiNizzo and Ziva and their complicated relationship.

Recently, Weatherly seemingly offered an update on NCIS: Tony & Ziva, sharing a post on Instagram with an intriguing caption.

The actor and executive producer writes: “The beginning of a new era has begun within the #ncisverse #tony&ziva.” Although it’s not an official filming confirmation, it is known that the spinoff intends to film in Europe over the summer.

If it’s right that filming is now underway, which would be right on schedule, it won’t be too long before the spinoff begins to share casting announcements that will offer a better sense of what to expect from the latest entry in the expansive CBS franchise.

In the upcoming Paramount+ spinoff, Tony and Ziva are raising their daughter together, but when Tony’s security company is attacked, the couple finds themselves on the run in Europe. They try to fight out the culprit, learning to trust each other again in hopes of finally getting their happy ending. Consisting of ten episodes, with The Magicians showrunner and Trumbo writer John McNamara penning the script and also executive producing NCIS: Tony & Ziva, the series unfolds after Ziva’s memorable exit in the main series.

After Ziva’s supposed death in the original NCIS show, Tony left the team to raise their daughter. Years later, however, Ziva is discovered alive. This leads her to complete one final mission before she’s reunited with Tony and their daughter in Paris. It’s been confirmed by a casting report that the Paramount+ Original will be casting an actor to play Tali, their teenage daughter, and that she’ll have an uneasy relationship with her mother.

NCIS: Tony & Ziva will also feature a Russian hacker and a French liaison. If it’s right that filming is now underway, which would be right on schedule, it won’t be too long before the spinoff begins to share casting announcements that will offer a better sense of what to expect from the latest entry in the expansive CBS franchise.
