A recent study has found that half of the people regret not making decisions sooner in life, with the majority of adults wishing they had acted sooner to seize opportunities. According to a poll of 2,000 adults, 62 per cent missed out on exciting and unexpected experiences due to hesitancy, while 51 per cent never had the chance to meet new people.

The effects of the COVID-19 pandemic have left 37 per cent of people feeling less spontaneous than ever before. However, 65 per cent are planning to create more spur-of-the-moment memories this year. In an effort to promote spontaneity, Magnum has launched the ‘Pick Your Pleasure Pass’ with singer Troye Sivan, offering free event tickets to the public.

Daniel Lythgo, brand manager for Magnum, emphasizes the importance of spontaneity in bringing excitement and joy to life. He encourages people to step out of their comfort zones and embrace spontaneous moments, as some of the best memories are made when least expected.

The study also revealed that over half of Brits prefer spontaneous plans over organized events, finding them more exciting and leading to more genuine interactions. However, budget limitations, busy schedules, and childcare responsibilities often hold people back from being spontaneous.

Despite these barriers, the research shows that those who engage in spontaneous activities do so at least four times a month. Summer is considered the best time for being more instinctive, with 71 per cent of respondents believing it is the ideal season for spontaneity.

Magnum aims to inspire everyone to embrace spontaneous pleasure this summer and create unforgettable memories through unique events. Whether it’s last-minute concert tickets or a spontaneous day out with friends, the brand hopes to add magic to the unplanned moments of life.

In addition to the popular spontaneous activities listed in the study, such as going out for a meal, going to the pub, and booking weekend trips, Brits also shared some of the most spontaneous things they have done, including last-minute holidays and road trips. For those looking for more ideas, we have compiled a list of 25 spontaneous weekend plans to add some excitement back into life.
