Suspect in psychiatric hospital: Police find more victims of serial rapist

In Walldürn, Baden-Württemberg, a 37-year-old kidnapped a young woman and abused her for days – with the help of his younger brother. The victim manages to get help. When the perpetrator is arrested, the investigators come across traces of other women. The first victims have been identified.

In the case of an alleged serial offender who is said to have held and raped at least one woman for days, the investigators say they still have no overview of the other possible victims. A spokesman for the Mosbach public prosecutor’s office said he could not provide any information on this at the moment. This is partly due to investigative tactical reasons, partly nothing is known about it. However, other victims have been identified.

A 37-year-old is said to have held a 26-year-old against her will in Walldürn in northern Baden-Württemberg between October 15 and 19 and violated her. The man’s 23-year-old brother is said to have helped him. The victim finally managed to alert an acquaintance who called the police on the emergency call.

The suspicion of other alleged victims arose from the search of the crime scene and the further investigations. According to the public prosecutor’s office, at least one of the two suspects lived in the property in Walldürn (Neckar-Odenwald district). The suspects had partially commented on the matter, said the spokesman.

The 37-year-old man is accused of taking hostages in combination with particularly serious rape and dangerous bodily harm. He was taken to a psychiatric hospital with a placement arrest warrant. The man’s 23-year-old brother is said to have provided help. He was arrested on suspicion of aiding and abetting.
