Telecinco The Tele Factory informs its workers that it will carry out an ERE after the end of Sálvame

Of all the news that have been published in recent weeks after the confirmation of the end of Sálvame, one of the worst was the possibility that its production company, La Fábrica de la Tele, had to open an Employment Regulation File (ERE ) for the workers. Finally, the news has been confirmed.

As 20minutes has advanced and this newspaper has confirmed, La Fábrica de la Tele has informed the Company Committee, recently created in the production company, that it will carry out an ERE. “It is a formal procedure that begins and that has legal deadlines,” they say from the producer.

The workers who will form part of the ERE are those linked to Sálvame, Focus and Viernes Deluxe. Precisely, the three programs that in less than a month will disappear from the Mediaset grid.

The Tele Factory has communicated the collective dismissal to the works council, regretting “sincerely having to make the decision” and thanking its workers for “the high degree of commitment to their work”.

The communication, as EL MUNDO has learned, took place this morning. Those responsible for La Fábrica de la Tele brought together the representatives of the workers and informed them of the decision, something that, according to sources close to them, was “something expected.”

“It is true that we expected it and we are already prepared to assume whatever comes,” these sources say. “Another thing is how many people it will affect. That will depend on how everything is going to be developed and future projects that can relocate a good part of the staff,” they conclude.

After the confirmation of the collective dismissal, La Fábrica de la Tele wanted to send a message of hope stating that “in parallel” to all this process that has already begun, “La Fábrica de la Tele works together with Mediaset on future projects”. Projects that could decrease the number of layoffs.

Since Mediaset announced the definitive cancellation of Sálvame -its last program will be on June 23-, the most worrying thing was what was going to happen to the production company’s workers. Sálvame is the flagship of La Fábrica de Tele and the one that hogs the most broadcast hours of the production company.

To the blow that led to the closure of Sálvame and Deluxe, a new cancellation has been added in the last few hours for La Fábrica de la Tele, Focus, the Cuatro program. In the case of this program, the end will come at the end of the season. In fact, the reason for ending Focus is none other than the low audience data.

The investigative program began with very good data for the second mediaset channel, but installment after installment has been losing more and more audiences with an average audience share of 4.1%.

As of now and, according to the legal procedures for the Employment Regulation Files, the committee of La Fábrica de la Tele has one week from today, the day of the communication, to designate a negotiating commission made up of up to 13 members.

Once the commission is constituted, the term is one month to negotiate the conditions of the ERE. That is, the terms, compensation, numbers of dismissals, etc. At the same time, La Fábrica de la Tele, in which Mediaset has a 33% stake, will continue negotiations with the group in search of new projects that can stop the bleeding of layoffs.
