Television Mexican actress Cecilia Priego, from 'La Reina del Sur', dies at 36

The Mexican actress Cecilia Priego, 36, has died as a result of cervical cancer that she had been diagnosed with several years ago.

Cecilia Priego was known for having participated in several successful soap operas on TV Azteca, such as Pobre diabla, Pasión morena or Huérfanas. She also had a small role in the successful La Reina del Sur, one of her most remembered roles.

It was her father, the singer Freddy Persa, who communicated the news of the actress’s death through his social networks.

“I don’t remember the day or time, but since this battle of your illness began, I began to always write, thanking God for your falls and your rises. I understood that it was not easy for you or for us like you FAMILY, but you always demonstrated your strength, your faith your desire to live as a tireless warrior and twice you defeated this disease, always enjoying your life, your work, that professionalism and love that you have for the theater,” her father wrote on Facebook.
