The Script to Headline Open-Air Gig in Limerick this July

Irish rock band The Script has announced an exciting summer show at Thomond Park Stadium in Limerick, set to take place on Saturday, 12 July. This open-air gig will be the band’s only Irish performance of 2025, making it a highly anticipated event for fans. Tickets for the concert will go on sale starting Saturday, 28 September, at 10 am through Ticketmaster.

New Album and Tour Dates

In May, The Script revealed plans for their new album release, along with a European and UK tour that includes stops at Dublin’s 3Arena and Belfast’s SSE Arena. Prior to their Limerick show, the band will be performing at Belfast’s SSE Arena on Wednesday, 13 November, followed by a show at the 3Arena in Dublin on Friday, 15 November. The release of their seventh studio album, “Satellites,” marks the band’s return to the music scene and features the single “Both Ways.”

Tribute to Mark Sheehan

“Satellites” holds special significance for The Script as it is their first music release since the passing of co-founder and guitarist Mark Sheehan. Drummer Glen Power described “Both Ways” as a high-energy track that showcases a different side of the band. Despite the loss of Sheehan, the band remains committed to honoring his memory and continuing the legacy they built together. Lead singer Danny O’Donoghue emphasized the importance of moving forward while paying tribute to their friend’s enduring influence.

Reflecting on the album cover, O’Donoghue shared, “The album cover features silhouettes of myself, Glen, and Ben Sargeant, our bassist, alongside a hooded silhouette representing Mark’s lasting presence. While his absence is deeply felt, we are focused on creating new music and embracing the future. The Script will never be the same, but we are dedicated to crafting meaningful music that honors our journey together.”

The band’s resilience and determination to persevere in the face of loss have resonated with fans, who eagerly await their upcoming performances and new music releases. As The Script prepares to headline the open-air gig in Limerick this July, they carry with them the spirit of camaraderie and musical excellence that has defined their career.
