Warner Bros. Discovery EMEA and Gulli, a French kids network, have exciting news for fans of the popular animated series Totally Spies! They have officially ordered an eighth season of the show, which was announced at the Annecy film festival.

For those unfamiliar with the series, Totally Spies! follows the adventures of three teenage girls – Sam, Clover, and Alex – who live in Beverly Hills and work as undercover agents for the World Organization of Human Protection (WOOHP). The show, originally created by Vincent Chalvon-Demersay and David Michel for Zodiak Kids & Family France, first premiered in 2001 and ran for six successful seasons until 2012.

During its run, Totally Spies! gained global popularity and even had a feature film spinoff in 2009. After an 11-year break, the series was revived for a seventh season by Zodiak parent company Banijay Kids & Family, which premiered on Gulli last month. The revival has been a massive hit, with increasing viewership week by week, especially among the 4-14 age demographic.

The seventh season is set to be aired worldwide on Warner Bros. Discovery’s various channels and platforms later this year. Philippe Bony, President of Gulli, expressed his excitement about the overwhelming success of the show’s recent season, highlighting how it has broken audience records and become a national favorite among children in France.

Benoît Di Sabatino, CEO of Banijay Kids & Family, emphasized the responsibility his team felt in bringing back such a beloved series and the joy in seeing it resonate with audiences. The success of the seventh season and the confirmation of an eighth season only solidify their reputation as top producers of quality kids and family entertainment.

Season 8 of Totally Spies! will be produced by Zodiak Kids & Family France in partnership with Gulli and Warner Bros. Discovery EMEA. Banijay Kids & Family will be in charge of global sales, licensing, and merchandising for the brand.

This renewal of Totally Spies! comes at a time when TF1, a leading broadcaster in France, is increasing its focus on animation by investing more in French and European original content and dedicating more airtime to cartoons. Fans of the series can look forward to more exciting adventures with Sam, Clover, and Alex in the upcoming eighth season, as the spy trio continues to captivate audiences around the world.
