When Is Lorde Coming Back? ‘Royals’ Singer Teases New Album In Mysterious Video

Grammy-award winning singer Lorde released her first album, “Pure Heroine,” in 2013. Although the New Zealand artist has worked with several singers and created songs (such as “Yellow Flicker Beat” for “Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1”), she hasn’t released her second album. Yet.

On Monday, the 20-year-old songwriter shared the link to a website — https://www.imwaitingforit.com/ — on her Twitter account which has a video of her eating fries and drinking from a Styrofoam cup. The short video ends with the screen fading to black and the words “3.2.17 NYC” and “3.3.17 NZ” flashing. It is highly likely that the “Royals” singer will release a song or a few songs from her new album on those days.

The “Tennis Court” singer had previously hinted that she is working on a new album in November last year. She wrote a long, touch post to her fans minutes before her 20th birthday informing them that she is working on a new LP. In the Facebook post, Lorde highlighted how she had a colossal year and felt a spectrum of emotions.

“I’m eating raspberries sitting up in bed, thinking about watching ‘The Crown,’ and I probably should have written something nicer ages ago but my head is so full of lyrics and drums these days that this is all I can manage,” Lorde wrote in the post. “But it feels very important I write to you, for some reason.”

Lorde added, “Writing ‘Pure Heroine’ was my way of enshrining our teenage glory, putting it up in lights forever so that part of me never dies, and this record — well, this one is about what comes next.” Later, she teased about writing her new album, “I can hardly stop myself from typing out the name. I just need to keep working a while longer to make it as good as it can be. You’ll have to hold on. The big day is not tomorrow, or even next month realistically, but soon. I know you understand.”

The musician is set to appear as a musical guest in the March 11 episode of NBC’s “Saturday Night Live.” It’s possible that she will use this opportunity to promote her new song or album on the show.
