Speculating on the rumors surrounding professional wrestling is a popular activity for fans, often just as entertaining as watching the matches themselves. In this regular column, we delve into the latest gossip swirling around the world of pro wrestling.

It’s important to remember that rumors are just that – rumors. Nothing has been confirmed as fact, so it’s best to take everything with a grain of salt. We keep track of rumor accuracy in our weekly feature called Rumor Look Back, so be sure to check that out for updates. Now, let’s dive into the rumors of the day:

According to multiple sources speaking to PW Insider, Mercedes Mone and Shane McMahon were spotted chatting at New York’s LaGuardia Airport on Sunday morning. While the meeting seemed coincidental, with both individuals heading to their respective flights, one source mentioned that they discussed All Elite Wrestling (AEW).

Mone herself confirmed the interaction in her official newsletter, revealing that Shane even gave her his number before catching his flight. She teased at the end of her newsletter, leaving readers with the phrase “the rest as they say is history or maybe a mystery!”

PW Insider also heard that Mone had a specific goal in mind during her Forbidden Door match – to elevate Stephanie Vaquer and help the CMLL star connect with the live audience.

While there is no confirmation that WWE will turn Royal Rumble into a two-night event, Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp’s sources within the company hinted that the structure of the Rumble could easily support a two-night format.

In a report from Fightful Select, it’s suggested that Daniel Garcia’s AEW contract may be expiring this fall. However, there is internal optimism that he will remain with the company for an extended period. There are even rumors circulating that Garcia may have already re-signed, with those close to him hinting that his future will become clearer soon.

On July 3, WWE filed a trademark for the event name “SuperBrawl,” indicating a potential new event on the horizon.
