Beyoncé tops the charts and records for "Renaissance"

Beyoncé (40) conquers the top of the charts in her home country USA. In the first week of release, her seventh solo studio album “Renaissance” went straight to the top of the Billboard 200 album charts with 332,000 units sold. At the same time, Beyoncé became the first artist whose first seven studio albums debuted at the top of the US charts with “Renaissance” – an impressive record.

“Renaissance” is also the first album by a female artist, released in 2022, to reach the top position in the US charts. Beyoncé follows Adele (34), whose album “30” topped the list for a total of six weeks last year. In general, Beyoncé’s sales figures for the current year are only exceeded by Harry Styles (28). The Brit’s third studio album, Harry’s House, sold 521,000 units in June.

In contrast to the last two studio albums “Beyoncé” (2013) and “Lemonade” (2016), “Renaissance” was not released as a surprise this time, but was officially announced in mid-June of this year. The single “Break My Soul” was released on June 20th.
