Billie Eilish accepted Oscar de la Renta as her dress to the Met Gala, despite the fact that they have stopped selling fur

Billie Eilish is just 19 years old and has already made an impact in the fashion world.

Since the beginning of her career, the “HTM0_ Happier Than Ever ” singer is known for her fashion sense. She made waves Monday night with her Oscar de la Renta-designed look to the Met Gala.

But, before she was willing to wear the company’s logo – which is a huge decision for any Met Gala attendee- there was one condition: They stopped selling fur.

According to the New York Times Eilish, an animal rights activist and long-time vegan, demanded that major fashion houses stop selling the material to him in order to work with them.

According to Alex Bolen, CEO of , the designer had begun to phase out fur. They stopped using it on runway shows for many years because it was irrelevant. However, they still sold it in stores due to a “meaningful amount” of sales and profit.

The singer requested that they stop selling these pieces.

Bolen stated, “I thought a lot over what Oscar [de la Renta] had said — he was a huge fan of fur, and that the only thing he really worried for in the fashion industry was his eyes getting old,” I need to surround myself with people who have different views.

Eilish was giddy about her gown and Oscar de la Renta’s decision in an Insta post following the star-studded event.

“Thank you @oscardelarenta, for creating this beautiful dress and bringing my vision to life. It was an honor to wear this gown knowing that oscar dela renta will continue to be entirely fur-free !!!!” She wrote.

She continued, “I am beyond delighted that @fernandogarciam1205 & @tokibunbun heard me on the issue and have now made an impact that makes a positive difference for animals and our planet.” “It was an honor to be a catalyst in this matter. I urge all designers to do so.

Eilish stated during the event’s live stream online that her look was inspired her favorite holiday-themed Barbies growing up. A video showing her collaboration with designers also showed that she had brought photos of iconic Hollywood icons such as Marilyn Monroe to inspire her.
