‘Doctor in Alaska’ returns to television

Two decades after its end, a Doctor in Alaska prepares his return to television. The american chain CBS is working on a new installment of the successful series of the decade of the 90’s along with the creators and the original cast.

According to Variety, the actor, Rob Morrow, you will return to see the doctor, Joel Fleischman, who returns to Cicely to attend the funeral of an old friend. Once there, you will find a new group of bizarre characters and meet with their former colleagues.

Morrow also will be executive producer of the new series. Actor John Corbett, in the fiction, Chris Stevens, will, also, as a producer, but is not expected to act in the series.

The co-creator of Doctor in Alaska, Josh Brand, write and produce the new chapters. The other protagonist of the series, John Falsey, and Ben Silverman (The Office, Betty) complete the production team under the umbrella of Universal Television.

CBS aired a Doctor in Alaska between 1990 and 1995. With six seasons, the series surpassed the barrier of 100 chapters and won seven Emmy awards, including best drama and best script drama in 1992.

moving forward, this project adds to the long list of prequels, sequels and other reviews of classic series that is developing the american television. To give some examples, the same CBS currently airing Murphy Brown, a popular comedy from the 90’s; ABC recovered to Roseanne, a series that after the crushing departure of its creator and protagonist continues as The Conner; and Nickelodeon will relaunch the Rugrats.
