Ex-racing driver: Real animal lover: Formula 1 star Kimi Raikkönen helps a dog sitting in the car when it's hot

He is considered a cool guy who was never a big fan of being the center of attention: Finnish racing driver Kimi Raikkönnen drove in Formula 1 from 2001 to 2021. He won numerous races for the McLaren and Ferrari teams until he left the scene he drove for the Alfa Romeo racing team. He always kept his private life out of the media as much as possible, all that is known is that he has been married to his wife Minttu since 2013 and is the father of two children.

But the “Iceman”, as he is nicknamed, apparently also has a not so cool side – at least that is proven by a video that has now appeared. You can see Raikkönen and his little daughter on vacation in Italy. The two walk through a town in Tuscany and pass a parked car. A dog is sitting on the back seat, and although the window is slightly open, the four-legged friend seems to be suffering from the heat. And the ex-racer doesn’t just walk by – he acts.

Both the 42-year-old and his daughter have a paper cup with a scoop of ice cream in their hands and scoop it up as they walk. Seeing the suffering dog, Raikkonen scoops his ice cream into his daughter’s cup and fills his own cup with water instead. He carefully hands it to the animal through the slightly open car window. The dog drinks thirstily. Raikkonen looks again inquiringly and concerned, and then goes on with his daughter. He notices how a local resident filmed the touching scene from his window and looks visibly annoyed.

Of course it’s annoying, as a celebrity, to always have to reckon with someone secretly filming or photographing you – especially when you have a child with you. In the case of Raikkonens, it is possible that this nice gesture towards the thirsty dog ??does not quite fit the casual, taciturn “Iceman” image, but shows a softer side of the Formula 1 hero. But, dear Kimi, for this small deed you can accept the praise of the public for five minutes. Well done!
