"Flüwa" inventor: "The Lion's Den" investor Ralf Dümmel mourns the deceased founder

“Never before has a post been as difficult for me as it is today,” writes Ralf Dümmel on his Instagram channel. The black-and-white photo shows the investor with the “Lion’s Cave” candidate Karlheinz Voll, who recently passed away. The two are holding the product in their hands, which brought the founder a deal with Dümmel in April 2021, the “winged spirit level”.

With his invention, Karlheinz Voll not only inspired the investor, but also numerous do-it-yourselfers. It is a classic spirit level in which the master mason and civil engineer built a fold-out “wing”: an additional joint that houses a second spirit level. The tool makes it possible to level in two directions at the same time.

The inventor wanted to make the life of ex-colleagues on the construction site and working in their own home easier – with success. The “Flüwa” was soon sold out in many hardware stores.

“You inspired me as an entrepreneur,” writes his mentor on Instagram. However, the personal relationship between the two was more important to him. With Karlheinz Voll he has “gained a friend in life”. His death hurt the investor very much. “I will never forget you,” Dümmel continued. His thoughts are with his family, whom he wishes a lot of strength.

As “Bild” reports, Karlheinz Voll is said to have died as a result of cancer. He already knew about the diagnosis before his TV appearance. He still wanted to get his start-up off the ground.
