Martin Receives Three-Place Grid Penalty in Assen

news-30062024-073316

Jorge Martin of Prima Pramac Racing has been given a three-place grid penalty for the upcoming race at the Motul TT Assen. The penalty was imposed after he was found to be riding slowly on the racing line during Q2, which disrupted Raul Fernandez of Trackhouse Racing MotoGP™. As a result, Martin will now start the race from P5 instead of his original P2 qualifying position.

This penalty comes at a crucial time for Martin, as he is currently leading the World Championship and will be looking to maintain his position against his main rival, Francesco Bagnaia of Ducati Lenovo Team. Bagnaia has been performing well and will be aiming to secure a Tissot Sprint and race double in the Netherlands.

Fans can catch all the action of the MotoGP™ race at the Cathedral of Speed, starting at 14:00 local time (UTC +2). It will be interesting to see how Martin recovers from the grid penalty and if he can still put up a strong challenge against Bagnaia and the other competitors. Stay tuned for what promises to be an exciting race day in Assen!
