Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan: They should not travel to Scotland

Prince Harry (37) and Duchess Meghan (40) are apparently not supposed to travel to Balmoral to visit Queen Elizabeth II (96) in her Scottish summer residence. Such a trip had previously been reported. But as the “New York Post” now reports, the couple who emigrated to the United States should not be on the guest list.

The Sun reported over the weekend that staff at the monarch’s Scottish estate had been instructed to prepare for the full line-up of royals, including “Harry, Meghan and their children Archie and Lilibet.” However, several sources confirmed to the US newspaper that the Sussex family will not travel to Harry’s grandmother. The couple will remain in the US until the release of Harry’s much-anticipated memoir in the fall.

In early 2020, the Sussexes stepped down as senior members of the royal family and relocated to California.

Harry and Meghan last saw the Queen in June when they flew to the UK to celebrate their platinum anniversary. There they also presented their daughter Lilibet, nicknamed Lili, who was born in the USA in June 2021, to the monarch for the first time. Queen Elizabeth even met her great-granddaughter and namesake twice. However, there was no meeting with Harry’s brother, Prince William (40), his wife Duchess Kate (40) and their children. Although the emigrants are said to have invited them to their British home, Frogmore Cottage, for Lilibet’s first birthday, the Cambridges were away in Wales on official business.

The Queen arrived at Balmoral Castle on July 21 and will be staying at Craigowan Lodge for ten weeks. A wheelchair-accessible elevator is said to have been installed in the rustic stone house, and the Queen has been struggling with mobility problems for some time.

Members of the royal family are expected to visit the Queen there in the coming weeks. Prince Charles (73), Duchess Camilla (75) and Prince William, Duchess Kate and their three children Prince George (9), Princess Charlotte (7) and Prince Louis (4) are expected.
