Boys basketball Game Balls: Vote for top performance from Feb. 20-26, 2017

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Here are the latest boys basketball top performances nominated for “Game Balls” from Feb. 21 to 26.

Players are nominated by coaches and selected by the cleveland.com staff. Voting is open until noon Friday.

Naz Bohannon, Lorain: The Titans closed the regular season 20-2, ranked fourth in the final cleveland.com rankings, and Bohannon led two balanced performances. First in an 84-71 comeback Tuesday against No. 15 Central Catholic, Bohannon provided 16 points and a pair of crowd-energizing dunks. Bohannon, a 6-6 forward who added a Division I college offer from Drexel, pulled down 17 rebounds Friday with 15 points and a few key blocks in a 64-61 win vs. No. 18 Cleveland Heights.

Michael Bothwell, Cornerstone Christian: A 6-foot-3 junior point guard, Bothwell scored 39 points Monday to help the Patriots push Mentor in a 92-90 loss. Cornerstone Christian is ranked 13th, while Mentor is 11th.

Garvin Clarke, Euclid: The Panthers picked up their first win Friday, 69-50 at Strongsville. Clark, a 6-0 freshman guard, scored 27 points to lead the way. The next night, Clarke scored another 27 points without junior starting guard Emari Baddour in the lineup in a loss to St. Edward.

Cameron Drum, Padua: Drum’s free throws with 20 seconds left Friday sealed a 55-54 North Coast League home win vs. Lake Catholic. A 6-3 junior wing, Drum finished with 16 points.

A.J. Gareri, Ellet: The No. 17 Orangemen dropped their regular-season finale Friday to Massillon Jackson, 77-68, but showed their grit behind Gareri’s 21 points and nine rebounds. Ellet is the top seed in the Division I Alliance District, and the 6-9 Gareri is headed to Ohio University after this season.

Jayvon Graves, St. Vincent-St. Mary: The 6-2 senior guard closed strong for No. 2 STVM, putting up 31 points Tuesday in a 79-68 home win vs. North Canton Hoover. Graves added 23 Friday with a dazzling windmill dunk in a 72-54 win against Canton McKinley.
