Drunken driver crashes into mailbox, utility pole: Mayfield Village Police Blotter

MAYFIELD VILLAGE, Ohio

Impaired driving, Wilson Mills Road:

Officers located a vehicle around 3:30 a.m. Feb. 17 that had driven off the road and struck a mailbox and telephone pole. The driver was not injured, but appeared disoriented. The Maple Heights woman, 24, was subsequently charged with OVI, reasonable control and open container.

Theft, Beta Drive:

A catalytic converter was reported to have been stolen off a vehicle that was parked at a business Feb. 15. The theft was believed to have occurred the previous morning. The incident is under investigation, as surveillance video is being reviewed.

Suspicious activity, Foxboro Drive:

A woman said Feb. 15 a man came to her home the previous day and was looking around her home. He told her he had worked on her steps several years and there was other work that needed to be done. She said he gave her a quote of $200 and then left because he needed to get his tools. She said he never returned and when she called the original contractor, she was told they had Kaçak ?ddaa no employees by the name man had given her.

Fraud, Beta Drive:

An employee of a business reported Feb. 17 there were around $500 in fraudulent charges on the company’s checking account. The charges were made in Michigan. The company’s bank is investigating.

Vandalism, Upper Forty Drive:

A resident reported Feb. 19 there was spray-painting of possible gang signs on her property and a water pump and garden hose were missing. Officers established the complaint of vandalism was unfounded.

Harassing communication, Aintree Park Drive:

A woman reported Feb. 19 she was being harassed through text messages by her ex-husband and his girlfriend. She said it was related to the custody of her daughter. The incident is under investigation.
