North Central celebrates International Festival

You know the old saying about how the world is getting smaller?

Turns out it’s true.

For proof, look no further than North Central College in Naperville, where on Sunday one could step inside the Merner Field House and find food, music and performances from folks representing China, Germany, India, Ireland, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Spain and Bulgaria.

The school’s International Festival is an annual event run by student volunteers that celebrates cultural diversity.

One of the highlights is a program in which North Central’s international students oversee language immersion rooms in Arabic, German, Japanese and Spanish. There also was a sampling of international food dishes and plenty of entertainment.

Proceeds from the fest support scholarships for international and study abroad students at North Central.
