Trader Joe’s applesauce recalled over glass pieces

Manzana Products Co., Inc., suppliers of applesauce to Trader Joe’s stores, has recalled three varieties of its product after consumers reported glass pieces in the jars.

Two of the three varieties were distributed nationwide, which means the possibility that Ohio shoppers could be affected. Trader Joe’s has removed and destroyed potentially affected products from their shelves. Manzana released the identifying numbers for those consumers who might still have the product on their shelves.

Each apple sauce is packaged in a 24 oz. glass jar and customers can find the “Best Before” date stamped on top of the lid.
