Trump says he’s skipping White House Correspondents’ dinner

President Trump said Saturday he won’t attend the annual White House Correspondents Association dinner.

“I will not be attending the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner this year. Please wish everyone well and have a great evening!” Trump tweeted at 4:43 p.m. on Saturday.

The dinner, scheduled for April 29, draws reporters and celebrities and usually features performances by comedians. The president attends each year.

The White House Correspondents’ Association has complained about how President Trump and his administration has handled press conferences and briefings. On Friday the association complained when The New York Times, CNN and other news organizations were excluded from a briefing by presidential press secretary Sean Spicer.
