Borne is a "bad" Prime Minister for 56% of French people (poll)

More than half of French people believe that Elisabeth Borne, maintained Monday at Matignon by Emmanuel Macron, is a “bad” Prime Minister, a popularity rating up slightly since the start of the year, according to an Elabe poll for BFMTV broadcast Wednesday.

In January, during the period of adoption of the very controversial pension reform, the head of government had reached a low, according to the institute.

Six months later, she is a “good” Prime Minister for 27% of those questioned, two points more than at the end of January. 56% (-1 point) deem it “bad”, specifies the Elabe Institute which estimates that it has “stopped” its fall.

For 55% of respondents, Emmanuel Macron was “wrong” to keep her in office, against 44% who believe he was “right”.

77% of those questioned consider that it “implements the decisions” of the President of the Republic.

Regarding the Head of State, a very large majority of those questioned believe that he “missed” these “100 days” decreed in mid-April after the pension reform, in terms of “action” (80%) and especially that of appeasement (87%).

Nearly one in two French people (46%) expect “nothing” from the expected speech of the president in the coming days.

67% of respondents consider that Emmanuel Macron “has no project or overall vision for the country”, 3 points more than in May.

In addition, half of the French (49%) believe that the government is moving to the right, against 38% in the center.

Survey conducted by Internet from July 18 to 19 with a sample of 1,000 people representative of residents of mainland France aged 18 and over (quota method). Margin of error between 1.4 and 3.1 percentage points.
