"Decivilization": Macron "gives us reason", says Marine Le Pen

“Emmanuel Macron has once again proven us right,” said Marine Le Pen on Thursday after the president mentioned the day before a “decivilization process” to characterize the recent acts of violence, particularly against public officials.

“I have been talking about wildness for years and I have been accused of all the evils”, explained the president of the RN group to the National Assembly on Cnews. “Decivilization is barbarism (…), so in reality Emmanuel Macron comes once again, if I may say so, to prove us right on the observation that we are making”, she added.

She nevertheless regretted that “he wakes up when the situation is already very burdened in our country”.

“We must be intractable on the merits. No violence is legitimate, whether verbal or against people. We must work in depth to counter this process of decivilization”, declared Wednesday the President of the Republic in the Council of ministers, according to a participant.

This term, originally from research in sociology, has recently been used by the right and is the title of a book by far-right theorist Renaud Camus, champion of the “great replacement”.

Asked about the tribute Thursday to the three young police officers killed in an accident caused by a heavily alcoholic and drugged driver, also deceased, the former presidential candidate denounced the “demoralization” of the police.

“We can give them equipment, if we disarm them morally, we do not solve the problem”, she assured, judging that the police have “a feeling of not having been supported”, in particular on the question of the “police brutality”.

Emmanuel Macron must speak during this tribute to the Roubaix police school (North).
